Video Editing is the process of modifying the raw footage of recorded videos. The process involves of accumulating all the raw footage into single platform and then edit them as per the requirement of the project.

In the early days when there was analog recording practices, to edit the film reels, such as cutting the film and pasting it back together to add or remove frames, was done manually! Later, with the advancement in technology, hardware equipment was developed which removed the processes to be done by hand; but any modifications to the footage needed to be physically applied to the film itself.

Today, most video is recorded digitally and can thus be edited using a video editing software. There are two types of editing: linear and nonlinear. Analog forms of video editing are considered linear, whereas digital video editing is considered nonlinear.
